According to sources YSRCP General Secretary Bhumana Karunakar Reddy has alleged that the TDP, which is staring at a defeat, was trying to get the elections postponed citing law and order issues. He scoffed at the TDP campaign that the YSRCP was trying to disrupt peace in Nandyal.
Sources have stated that the TDP is continuing with its tried and trusted allurement policy in Nandyal. On Friday, the TDP activists tried to lure voters with Rs 1000 and a bottle of wine in the Mullanpet area under Ward No 10. The YSRCP activists got wind of it and descended there pronto forcing the TDP men to take to their heels.
Currently YSRCP has accused the ruling TDP of resorting to irregularities to win the by-polls. Party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said the TDP was trying to lure the voters with sops, money and even wine. He said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who has realized that he was staring at a defeat, has been trying every trick in the trade to countermand the elections.
