Sources from Hyderabad have stated that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao has been selected for the Agriculture Leadership Award 2017 by the Indian Council of Food and Agriculture. According to sources a committee headed by noted agriculture scientist Prof MS Swaminathan has recommended Rao’s name for the award.



Accordingly the chief minister who is constantly working for the welfare of the farmers has received the award under policy leadership category. Meanwhile it was stated that the award will be presented by MS Swaminathan at Taj International Palace, New Delhi on September 5.

Indian Council of Food and Agriculture stated that "Rao has been selected for the award for his innovative and yeoman services being rendered for the welfare of farmers and farm sector". Moreover the Food and Agriculture Board of India is awarding the people who work for agriculture and rural development since 2008.
