As an attempt to care for future and avoid plastics Rajasthan has come out with an idea that provides a viable alternative to polythene bags.This new effort is made by the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB).The board has come up with a cloth bag vending machines in several parts of the state.
The machines is loaded with eco-friendly carry bags made of textile waste that was got from from textile units in Pali district. Regional officer of RPSCB, said, "We have procured 3 bag vending machines as of now and the approximate cost of each cloth bag vending machines is Rs 1.25 lakh".
There is a slot for coin acceptor in the vending machine through which any customer can insert Rs 5 or Rs 10 coin and get 2 cloth bags for just Rs 5, he said. A vending machine can dispense upto 76 bags.
