Vizagapatinam sources have stated that a case was registered against former Elamanchili MLA UV Ramanamurthy alias Kannababu on Monday for allegedly threatening and beating up a businessman in the city.
Meanwhile, according to reports, Sarojini Engineering Works chairman P. Rajanna Babu had lent Rs50 lakh to Kannababu in September 2010 who promised to repay on August 1, 2017.
Sources have stated that when Rajanna called him up on August 1, he told he would give the money on August 5 and later postponed to August 20. Rajanna went to Kannababu's home on August 20 to ask money. Instead of giving money to his lender, Kannababu thrashed the businessman.
According to sources Kannababu also threatened him that he would shoot him with gun if he came to his house again and told him that he will not return the money. The business man was thrown out of the house by his gunmen and car driver. Moreover based on the complaint of Rajanna, the police registered a case and an investigation is on.
