Remember the controversy over Vande Mataram in Urdu schools and Madrassa’s across the country . We have seen how there was a campaign against the Hindu fundamentalism and attempts to impose such fanatic literature on young minds in BJP ruled states and the campaign agaisnt it .
But it is now found that a poem written by an Al Qaeda terrorist had made its way into a text book syllabus for students of English Literature in the Calicut University of Kerala . Strange that the Terrorist poem was traced to the Communist dominated southern states which had opposed against Hindu fanaticism.
After its exposure the Kerala Government ordered immediate withdrawal of the poem ‘Ode to the Sea' which was written by Al Qaeda terrorist Ibrahim al-Rubaish . Officials say that the poem was included in the book without verifying the credentials and background of the author.
