New Delhi sources have added that the Delhi government has asked UPSC to look into its decision to regularize over 18 Kashmiri migrant teachers who have been working in municipal and government schools for about 13 years.




According to sources the director of education wrote to UPSC, asking for a relaxation in age limit and method of recruitment for Kashmiri teachers. Meanwhile the letter was written after a high court order asked the government to take an immediate decision on regularizing Kashmiri migrant teachers.

Reportedly the cabinet had taken a decision on this matter on July 12 and had subsequently asked for the LG's approval to push for their regularization. Moreover in its letter to UPSC, the government sought UPSC's concurrence for one-time relaxation in recruitment rules for the posts of postgraduate teachers, trained graduate teacher, librarian and music teacher working on a contract basis.
