Kadapa sources have stated that YSR Congress Party has set a week's deadline for the Andhra Pradesh government on the issue of release of water to KC canal and Telugu Ganga projects, which address the irrigation and drinking water needs of the farmers of Rayalaseema districts.
Recently YSR Congress MLAs Raghurami Reddy,Ravindranath Reddy and MP Avinash Reddy met the district collector and submitted a memorandum demanding the immediate release of water. The leaders said that water levels in Srisailam have reached 870 feet mark and the available water will meet the demands. Meanwhile they also demanded that the government construct a reservoir at Rajoli to utilise the water that going waste from Kunduru. At least 40 TMC of water was going waste through Somasila project, they pointed out.

Chief minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy had laid a foundation stone at Rajoli
for a reservoir in 2008 ,but no works have been taken up. They alleged that
Chandrababu has neglected all irrigation projects conceived by YSR to address
water crisis in Rayalaseema district
