Warangal sources have stated that passengers of Satavahana Express got panicked after a cell phone exploded in the train compartment at Kazipet Junction railway station on Sunday. Meanwhile according to the railway police officials, a mobile phone of one Vinod Singh in Chair Car coach C-2 exploded when he kept his mobile on charging.
According to sources the incident occurred just when the train chugged off the Kazipet railway platform. Meanwhile hearing the loud noise and smoke from the compartment, the passengers got panicked and ran halted skelter from one boggie to other. Meanwhile, the ticket collector pulled the chain noticing trouble in the coach.
Later, the passengers heaved a sigh of relief after the railway officials confirmed
that the explosion was due to an explosion of cell phone. After halting for 10
minutes, the train set off for Vijayawada. Furthermore the compartment was duly
checked later at the Warangal railway station before giving a green signal to
it.
