YSRCP U-turn on Telangana leaves a bitter taste in IInd phase of local body elections in that region. The party suffered in all districts of Telangana after seeing initial trends. YSRCP performed well in Mahaboobnagar district in 1st phase by winning around 100 panchayats in the district. This time it wouldn’t cross even 50 in IInd phase. In Ranga Reddy and Nalgonda too YSRCP bags good number of panchayats in 1st phase. Voters of Telangana show their anger towards reversal stand on Telangana.
Resignation drama hasn’t worked in Seemandhra too for the party. In first phase YSRCP emerges first in E.G and Vizag. As per the initial trends that party has lost Vizag to TDP and E.G. to Congress. Though it enjoys IInd place in Kurnool, it’s difficult for YSRCP to emerge as winner in the district. YSRCP lead in just Nellore and Kadapa out of thirteen Seemandhra districts.
Congress exercise on resolving Telangana issue seems to generate positive results in IInd phase of Panchayat elections. Except Ranga Reddy and Khammam Congress enjoys leading position in 7 Telangana districts. 4 districts in Seemandhra party are enjoying leading position. As per initial trends that TDP is leading in 9 districts. YSRCP stand doesn’t fetch fruitful results in Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra.
