Vijayawada sources have stated that Andhra Pradesh State Kapu Welfare Department & Corporation Ltd Dr. R. Amarendra Kumar has been removed from the post on serious charges of corruption. Accordingly the government notified his removal and handed over the official to his parent Animal Husbandry department. Further Amarendra was brought on deputation for the much coveted post after formation of the Kapu Corporation amid mounting demand for inclusion of Kapus in BC list by Mudragada Padmanabham in January 2016.
According to sources the Corporation was formed with the sole purpose of appeasing Kapus with various monetary benefits and to dilute the demand for BC status. The government allocated Rs1,000 for the Kapu Corporation to provide loans to budding entrepreneurs and coaching to youth for Civils and other competitive exams.
Presently the Kapu Welfare and Development
Corporation have been providing loans to eligible beneficiaries from the Kapu
community for setting up self-employment units. Chalamalasetti Ramunujaiah has
been appointed its chairman and Amarendra Kumar was entrusted with the official
executive responsibilities as its Managing Director. Sources have added that
nearly two years after the formation of the Kapu Corporation, Amarendra Kumar
is alleged to have amassed huge wealth fudging the funds intended for loans and
coaching programs.
