Sources from Hyderabad have stated that according to a statement released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Telugu states will experience heavy rainfall over the next five days. According to sources rains are expected in Hyderabad for another five days. Earlier on Sunday, rains lashed several parts of the city. Several colonies in LB Nagar, Nagole and Nacharam were inundated.



Meanwhile the city is already experiencing more than usual annual rainfall since two weeks. First it was Cumulonimbus clouds and then hurricane droni that left the city soaked. Moreover all the nalas and drains are overflowing leaving residents of low lying areas in constant fear. Though the GHMC has created emergency teams to tackle any eventuality, the preparations are said to be inadequate. A case in point is the overflowing of Bandla cheruvu in Anandbagh area that completely inundated Malkajgiri and Safilguda.

According to sources the roads and thoroughfares in Hyderabad are going from bad to worse as the city authorities have already said that they cannot undertake repairs works due to incessant rainfall. Furthermore rainfall is expected during the next one week in Ongole, Anantapur, Kurnool, Kadapa, Chittoor, Machilipatnam, Bapatla and Kavali.
