The whole state of Tamil Nadu is shaken and stirred due to the self-immolation issue which happened at Tirunelveli Collector's Office. As the family got Rs.140,000 from money lenders and paid Rs.250,000 in return, they were tormented to pay even more.
Despite lots of complaints to the Police Station and Collector Office, no action was taken against them and the family themselves set ablaze and the shocking photos shook everyone. BJP Leader H.Raja who responded to this incident said,
"These kinds of incidents happen as people lose their belief in God. They are following the principles of Periyar and are fooling themselves. Their common sense itself is ruined completely. Only if one has the trust on God, they will get the power to face the problems. They will have faith that God won't desert them. Periyar and his principles have spoiled the country. If so, we can stop such incidents."
