An NRI couple who traveled by Qatar Airlines has filed a complaint with respect to their valuables being stolen at Nedumbassery Airport, Kochi. As per a report from a leading Malayalam daily, the NRI couple from Florida, America, are Chacko Kurien and his wife Elly Kutty.
They traveled from Qatar to Kochi and they landed at Kochi Nedumbassery Airport around 2.30am. They just found all their valuables were missing after they reached home. They immediately informed Nedumbassery police and the terminal manager.
However, Cochin Airport Authorities denied the theft as the modern security arrangements are extensive. A senior official said, "The incident was brought to our notice and we see that the theft must have taken from another Airport. Our Airport has more than 2000 CCTVs and Modern Surveillance systems."
Qatar Airways asked the couple not to lock the baggage and it took longer than the usual time in delivery. However, the Airways said the couple should have checked the baggage before leaving the airport. 13 bottles of perfume, 5 watches, mobile phones, a camera, diabetes detecting kit and ladies bags were stolen.
