Deepika Padukone's upcoming movie 'Padmavati' has been grabbing the headlines ever since the movie went on floors. The movie directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali has faced an array of controversies. The shooting has been disrupted, theaters screening 'Padmavati' trailer has been vandalized, Deepika threatened and lots more.
Now, Gujarat which is going to elect its new Government next month has banned the movie. The Kshatriya community leaders from BJP have written to the Chief Election Commissioner to stop the release of 'Padmavati' citing Gujarat elections as the reason.
Mr.Vijay Rupani who is the CM of Gujarat said, "Gujarat Government will never allow 'Padmavati' to get a release as it hurts the sentiments of Rajputs. We don't want our history to be distorted. We believe in Freedom of Speech, but not foul play. Many sections are hurt and have opposed it too."
