The Government has repeatedly warned the Taxpayers to link the PAN Card with their Aadhaar. But as most of them have never done it, the Central Government has issued a warning and has extended the deadline even a bit further.
The Centre has extended the deadline another three months to March 31st. A report from Finance ministry said, "We have noticed that many taxpayers have not yet linked their PAN with Aadhaar and to facilitate the process of linking, we have extended the time till March 31, 2018."
It should be noted that the initial date August 31, 2017, was extended to December 31, 2017, earlier. Now, once again the time has been extended. This has been extended under the section 139AA of Income-Tax Act, 1961. Even Payment transaction websites like PayTM demand the linking of Aadhaar cards.
