The ongoing agitation in Seemandhra is expected to take some new and radical turn with reports that employees and Genco officials of the region reportedly planning to take part in a drastic move to halt supply of power to the state. If this happens then total Seemandhra region will plunge into power crisis.

Power is expected to be tripped in Rayalaseema plant in Cuddapah and NTPP plant in Vijayawada which collectively supply close to 2000 MW of power for the state. Incidentally during Sakala janula samme by Telangana votaries during Oct-Nov 2011, coal production was halted at Singareni collieries which plunged South India into darkness.

The power supply will initially be halted for couple of hours in Tirupathi sometime next week in the night time for giving ‘Samaykya Harathi’ and later this will be taken to a big level. It has to be seen as to how the Centre will respond to this drastic move.
