It has been three days since the train blaze in Ananthapur district has claimed 26 lives even as the railway authorities are suspecting the short circuit theory as they are facing criticism over their inability to find actual reason which created the blaze.  Experts however say that short circuit may have occurred due to the rodent menace which has grown hugely with hundreds of mice chewing the protective rubber insulation from electricity wires causing circuit damage, overheating, fire or explosion.  While rodents are considered to be one of the reasons behind short circuits, fingers are also being being pointed out at how decades old bogies are being provided with numerous recharge points for mobile and laptops which is causing pressure on old wires. Moreover in AC coaches the batteries need to be recharged at major stations before journey starts but railways have given it to outsourcing firms that are neglecting it since anyway running train recharges them but this is not sufficient since most of the passengers recharge their laptops in AC coaches which is causing overload on batteries. One among these is being speculated as reason for the tragedy three days ago!
