People may be surprised but Congress Party feels that it can sweep elections whenever they are held in Telangana. This is so because people of Andhra Pradesh and many surveys predict that TRS led by KCR will sweep elections in the region.
Many say Congress decided to divide Andhra Pradesh only to minimise its losses in the state. However Congress senior leader in Telangana and former Home Minister Jana Reddy says “If the TRS agrees for a merger, it will be a welcome move. But if there is no merger, the Congress will still get majority in the elections in Telangana,”
Even other Congress leaders from the region feel Congress should immediately go for polls if TRS do not agree for its merger. They point out in previous polls, TRS couldn't gain much even with alliance.
They are confident that Congress party can claim credit for Telangana formation and win elections. It has to be seen how successful T congress leaders in their attempts to woo people and make them vote for the party.
