The Congress suffered a dual heart attack after Mangalagiri MLA Kandru Kamala and candidate for Narsaraopet Assembly segment, Kasu Mahesh Reddy distanced themselves out of election race. Ms. Kamala made her announcements clear and said that she has already conveyed her decision to PCC chief Raghuveera Reddy. The Congress is now forced to look for another candidate in the constituency.
Kasu Mahesh Reddy, the third generation politician of influential Kasu family, too said that he was going out of the contest. His father and former minister, Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy is in election race from Narsaraopet Lok Sabha candidate. Mr. Kasu Mahesh Reddy said that it would become a huge financial burden for both of them to contest and said that the party would announce an alternative candidate.
