Telugu Desam Party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, is likely to be in the Chief Minister’s post in Andhra Pradesh, will file his nomination again from the Kuppam Assembly constituency in Chittoor district. The 63-year-old Babu, who is busy campaigning in coastal districts and would be touring Vizianagaram and so Babu has asked his son Nara Lokesh to file nomination on his behalf.
“Babu’s nomination papers will be filed at 11.15 am. He has been representing Kuppam Assembly constituency since 1989,” said a senior party leader. As an opportunity, Mr Lokesh would also undertake his Yuva Prabhanjanam Yatra in Chittoor district after filing his father’s nomination. The yatra will begin at 2 pm from Kuppam and would cover Palamaneru, Ambedkar circle, Punganur, NTR Circle, Tambalapalle and stay at Kadiri in Anantapur overnight.
There was some suspense over the constituency Mr Nadiu would file his nomination from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency instead of the usual Kuppam Assembly constituency. But the TDP chief made his intentions clear after he announced that if his party is voted to power, they would make a BC as CM in Telangana. He opted for Andhra Pradesh over Telangana where his roots are and is confident of a big win of the party. Mr Naidu was Chief Minister from 1995-2004, but his party failed to form government in 2004 and 2009 elections. He is now trying his luck in Andhra Pradesh, following bifurcation of the state.
