Recently there was a first session convened of the AP Legislative Assembly where Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Leader of Opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Deputy Chief Ministers K.E. Krishnamurthy and N. China Rajappa, and others took the oath. The old AP Assembly building which was used from 1956 to 1985 is now allocated to AP government and the Assembly building, which is reportedly 100 years old doesn’t even have centralized air conditioning. Though few air conditioners were reportedly fixed on temporarily sources that this was insufficient and many members were sweating profusely while taking their oaths. Even the sound system is reportedly not that good. The MLA’s from AP are now reportedly determined to see that their Assembly is also built soon enough so that they need not use the old assembly which has been given to them without any facilities!
