After the fight regarding water, power and employees, the battle lines now seem to be drawn over sharing of revenues between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, which comes ahead of budgets that have be presented in the respective state Assemblies. Sources say that till the end of June, the taxes like VAT, excise and stamps and registration duties were gathered under the united Andhra Pradesh account and the cash is now reportedly with residuary Andhra Pradesh. While the estimated tax revenues for the previous financial year ending March 31 is Rs 72,443 crore, the revenue which was earned during April, May and June is estimated to be close to Rs 6,000 crore. If the bifurcation formula is actually followed, AP will get 58 per cent of this amount and Telangana 42 percent. But, sources say that taken aback for taking away the growth engine in the form of Hyderabad, AP is reportedly staking full claim for this tax revenue collected till June-end as the money is now in its kitty. Telangana government is reportedly crying hoarse demanding its due share, which is not less than 42 per cent of the total revenues collected.
