Sivarama Krishnan committee appointed by the Central Government is extensively touring in the divided state of Andhrapradesh in search and suggesting the right place for the selection of the new capital city for the state. As aware, they have already toured across the state in various regions and parallelly are into filing their reports. Sivarama Krishnan committee was at Anantapur district to analyse the region and suggest what exactly could be developed in the district. While speaking to a group of media Sivarama Krishnan has informed that there were about 5000 applications received till date in regards with the capital and sub capital for the state of Andhrapradesh. He is also stated that Rayalaseema region is typically a backward state in terms of development and thus they are considering the possibility of capital city in one region and other allotments like high court, IT and others at another region to facilitate a diversified development across the state. The committee members have visited the Ananthasagaram river and later the Anantapur city. They have also visited the age old clock tower in the city and Bangalore highway. Later they have met with the district Collector and other higher officials at the Revenue bhavan and held discussions. As being heard either IT division and either hardware or the software division may be allotted for the district.
