Constructing Flyover near Durgamma temple in Vijayawada is unfulfilled dream for Vijayawada people. TDP had conducted many agitations for this Flyover since last three years. Former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal argued that there was no need of Flyover near the Temple. Kesineni Nani promised to the voters on this Flyover during the election campaign. Travelling from Hyderabad to Vijayawada hardly took 4 hours after making the highway into 4 lanes.
It will take another one hour for the passengers to enter into Vijayawada city due to heavy traffic near Durgamma Temple. Kesinani looked into the Flyover issue soon after he was elected as MP. He asked R&B authorities for the quick action on file. As per the sources, private agency charged 90 lakhs for the design of this Flyover. There is problem after taking the review of the original plan of the Flyover. No man’s land exists from Swathi Theatre to Durgamma Temple. Both R&B department and Highway Development authority are trying to escape each other.
Nain asked R&B officials to write a letter to the Union Government. It’s difficult to raise funds for the new state to hold such a huge expenditure. Nani raised the issue at Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in presence of Chandra Babu Naidu. Nani expressed the necessity of the construction of this flyover guessing the Capital in his mind. Gadkari agreed for bearing the expenditure for the construction of this Flyover. CBN said that Nani is too fast than me. Flyover issue will become solved without having single penny from State Government.
