The Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is reportedly mulling branding the new state as ‘Sunrise’ state similar to Kerala for attracting industry and investments into various sectors. This is being done with a proper strategy and planning with required groundwork. Naidu reportedly said that his government would strive hard for bringing back the old glory of a good brand image for AP. While releasing a white paper on industries yesterday, Naidu reportedly said that he is planning for a decentralized industrial and investment zone. He added that since Andhra is the east-coast zone of the country where the sun first rises it is ideal to call it a ‘Sunrise’ state,” he said. Naidu has identified eight sectors which can be growth engine sectors such as textiles, renewable energy, food processing, tourism, IT and fisheries. Naidu also condemned previous Congress government of diverting two lakh acres of land for real estate purposes, saying that out of 32 SEZs which were notified only 16 became partly operational, while other 16 are non-operational.
