The Andhra Pradesh government is reportedly planning to raise the issue that Khammam and Bhadrachalam were not part of Telangana before 1956, in order to counter Telangana CM KCR’s 1956 benchmark for fee reimbursement. AP is all set to argue that if that is not the case, then all these places should be given to Andhra Pradesh. Sensing that KCR would not stop at only fee reimbursement issue, an AP minister reportedly said that there are Presidential orders, Article 371D, national guidelines on local status. Ganta Srinivas Rao reportedly said that KCR was trying to create a constitutional crisis by creating 1956 as the benchmark year for the issue of nativity and added that Telangana is not Vatican City to have special powers and that it is just like any other state in the country. There are rumors that the fee reimbursement issue will not end here and the TS government may be dragged to court over the peculiar conditions. As of now, the conditions being set by KCR for fee reimbursement is met with a lot of criticism.
