Founder of Narayana Group of Educational Institutions P. Narayana has long relationship with TDP. Reportedly, he looks after all financial adjustments for TDP nominees in 3 Uttarandhra districts in 2014 general elections. TDP President CBN initially thought to send Narayana to Rajya Sabha later he withdraw his decision. CBN gave chance to Narayana in his cabinet as a Minister of Municipal Affairs.
Narayana became minister of the state neither MLC nor MLA. At one time CBN thought to assign Deputy CM to Narayana but cannot do this. There are no elections for AP legislative council in near future. AP lost to get its quota in MLCs due to mistake done by the then UPA Government at the time of division of the state. Now, Elections for Legislative Councils could possible only after making amendment in the constitution.
There are many senior leaders like Gaali, SomiReddy and Payyavula there for getting elected as MLCs. Luck favors Narayana in this regard. Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy resigned for his MLC just before the elections and contested as MLA from YSRCP. That vacancy would occupied by Narayana. He will elect to the Council through MLA quota not from local bodies. CBN also selected him as a leader for the group of panel which studies the structure of the Capital city in AP.
