Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is very important for 10+2 students for their career. Students are very much interested and make them competitive to get top ranks both in Medicine and Engineering fields. This is the practice in AP that followed since many years. Many corporate colleges like Narayana, Chaitanya and Krishnavevi have in limelight by establishing coaching centers for EAMCET in the state.
Reportedly, AP government has planned to scrap EAMCET system due to having differences with Telangana Government on fee reimbursement. Ganta blamed that Engineering admissions have been more complicated by Telangana Government. AP is in thought of provide admissions in Engineering and Medicine as per the merit marks in Intermediate. This is what its neighbor state Tamil Nadu follow.
AP Government wants to change the existing system of allocation of seats to Engineering and Medicine colleges. AP Government has formed a committee led by minister and three officials for studying Tamil Nadu system.
