After the division of the state, AP left remains with 13 districts. It seems Government has planned to form new district in the name of freedom fighter Alluri Seetharama Raju. Sentiment also would work on AP in this regard. AP Government feels that Number 13 is not good for the state. That’s the reason Government wants to increase one more district with 20 Mandals.
New district comprises of 7 mandals that included in AP due to Polavaram, 10 Mandals in East Godavari and 3 Mandals in West Godavari. Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao ordered Collectors of Godavari districts to submit the report of the new district. There is another reason for the formation of the new district.
Even after 7 Mandals in Khammam included in West Godavari, district Capital Eluru is far away to them. Kakinada also far away to the people who lived in 7 Mandals if the government wants to included them in East Godavari. For the convenience of tribal people, Government seeks to form new district by including all Tribal mandals. Reportedly, Alluri Seetharama Raju name assigned to the new district.
