From facing severe power shortages in June, Andhra Pradesh has reportedly achieved zero mega watt shortage on the day of Eid which reportedly prompted authorities to immediately lift power cuts across all the 13 districts on Tuesday. For the first time after a period of two years, power supply was reportedly extended without any interruption even in the villages of AP, on the occasion of Eid. The windfall is reportedly attributed to the reduced power demand because of monsoon showers and increased power availability from various sources. The state has reportedly received 177 MW from the Centre, 130 MW from Simhapuri and another 150 MW from other generators in the state and it is expected to get another 150 MW in another few with the commissioning of the Meenakshi Power project. Apart from other factors, analysts see this as the first tangible achievement by Chandrababu Naidu who also shares credit with fair power supply even during droughts in his first tenure. While in opposition, he had always been mentioning about his track record and now he has proved it right which can boost industrial development very much!
