Donakonda in Prakasam district is reportedly Sivaramakrishna committee's choice for the new capital of Andhra Pradesh which reportedly prefers multi-locational development of Andhra Pradesh, implying that governmental offices should be coming up many cities and not in one city alone. But sources say that as Naidu government wants a capital similar to Singapore with concentration of government offices and also as investment hub, the committee has reportedly found it ideal to be Donakonda where huge barren land is available. Although the members of Sivaramakrishna committee are still touring AP sources say that they have already made up their mind. This report is expected to be submitted to Indian government in another ten days especially as it found logic in developing axis connecting Srikalahasti in Chittoor to Nadikudi in Guntur. The committee seems to be not in favour of a mega Singapore-style capital at Mangalgiri located between Vijayawada and Guntur. It feels that in case capital is located at Mangalgiri, then it should only be an administrative capital, similar to Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
