Telangana is gearing up for the country's biggest state level Survey on Tuesday. Over 369,000 state government employees, including police and teachers, will start the survey across 10 districts of Telangana and survey 8.4 million households, according to government estimates from 8 AM tomorrow morning. The Telangana government has already issued order allocating Rs.20 crore (Rs.2 crore for each district). The entire exercise will be wrapped up in 12 hours (8AM to 8PM on August 19th). 18 documents are needed to help the enumerators to fill the complete Survey form. The required documents are water bill, Income Tax, LPG, Power Bill, Bank/Post Office, Aadhar Card, Caste Certificate, Birth Certificate (SSC), Physically Handicapped, Vehicle RC Book, Pattadar Pass Book, Ration Card, Voter ID, Mobile, PAN, Weaker Sections House, House document and Pension Pass book (Old, widow, PH, Freedom fighters). On the other side, people of Telangana who are working in several parts of the country are dragging their feet back to their native state to enroll in the Survey. The trains and buses coming to Telangana are completely full and private bus operators have already hiked the fares by more than triple cashing the demand. People are worried if they lose government benefits in case they fail to return home. All the RTC buses in the state will not come on to roads. Government had declared holiday for all the public organizations, cinema halls etc. Even the private companies have declared holiday due to the instructions from the government. On the other side, Settlers from Andhra Pradesh are very much worried that if this Survey aims to single out the settlers of the region and target them by excluding them from all welfare schemes.
