Telangana Rashtra Samiti MPs have met with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and pressed their case against vesting special powers on Common Capital to the Governor. They made it clear that TRS government is not at all agreeing to the center's proposal and any such move in that direction is nothing but annexing the rights of the people elected state government. On the other side, a day ahead of TRS MPs visit to Delhi, Governor ESL Narasimhan began his tour to Delhi. He met with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and higher officials of the ministry on Wednesday and gave several confidential reports on various contentious issues between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states. He is also expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a short while from now. Telangana government is worried about the reports being given by the Governor. During the agitation days, TRS often accused Narasimhan of acting against the Telangana movement. It has to be seen what the Union government will decide over the special powers of Governor over common capital. There is a certain clause in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act which relegates the law and order powers of Hyderabad to Governor during the common capital period. Constitutional Experts say that Telangana government will be in a fix over the issue to approach the courts. If the issue goes to courts, the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act may itself fall flat since there is no word like common capital in the constitution which further complicates the whole issue.
