YSRCP President Jagan said that CBN failed to fulfill on waiving of loans to the farmers and called the farmers to set fire to effigies of CBN. Jagan has faced the wrath of the farmers in Saraswathi Cements case. Jagan’s Sarswathi Cements was procured around 1200 acres of land from the farmers in Guntur district in 2008. Company management was assured that Cement Company will be completed within 3 years.
Cement factory management took the farmers land with 3 lacs per acre and assured one job for each family at the time of procuring the fertile land from farmers. The Company was not yet started. Now the management said that they are waiting for permissions to start Cement factory. Farmers demanded the Company management to allow them to cultivate the crops till the factory established. Saraswathi Management was not considered farmer’s request.
As per the farmers, 800 families are struggling for their livelihood. They travelled 30 to 40 KMs for their work every day. District Collector and RDO gave permission to the farmers for cultivation. Now the farmers requested the Government to protect their crops. They will ready to protest at Indira Park on 30th. If Saraswathi Cement Company doesn’t fulfill their demands they might go for dharna in front of Lotus Pond.
