The recent rains seem to have come as a boon in disguise for farmers in Telangana state who have been reeling under severe drought situation. At the same time the continuing power crisis was all set to upset TRS applecart sooner or later.
This is given the manner in which farmers started pouring onto roads and started agitations against KCR’s government. Moreover, the plunging Krishna river levels and the plummeting Osman Sagar and Himayath Sagar lakes in Hyderabad’s outskirts has pushed Hyderabad towards erratic water supply.
But the sudden rains has not only saved existing crops, but it has also replenished tanks and reservoirs while generating good amount of electricity thereby reducing power cuts in the region. In a way, rain gods seem to have saved KCR.
Many say this is not just the first time that KCR had fortunes favoring him. The very manner in which the Telangana state has been bifurcated from Andhra Pradesh along with his rise to power is a clear example of blessed destiny.
