Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA) was aimed to improve social-economic status of poor women in rural areas by creating groups of women. There are around 7.6 lakhs DWCRA Groups exist in the state. AP Government gave more importance to DWCRA and SHG groups soon after CBN took the charge as Chief Minister of the state. He was announced to waive 1 lakh loans to DWCRA group.
To strengthen them more financially, CBN has decided to assign sand quarries to DWCRA groups. In latest development, CBN wants to add Tech color to DWCRA groups. The much publicized online networking service FACE BOOK would link to DWCRA. From now onwards, DWCRA groups will make publicity for their products through FACE BOOK. This helps them to generate more income for their products through online.
Director for FACE BOOK South Asia Ankhi Das met Chief Minister CBN in this regard. She suggested the Government to use Social-networking services to know the pulse of the people on Government schemes. He wants FACE BOOK assistance for selling of DWCRA products online. She will submit the proposed plan for DWCRA groups within a week for their marketing.
