The issue of carving out of new districts in Telangana region is reportedly leading to disputes among the people. There are reports that TRS government has decided to create 7 new districts. Currently there are 10 districts in the state. This is expected to be increased to 17 districts soon e. Mancherial of Adilabad district, Jagtial of Karimnagar, Vikarabad of Rangareddy, Kothagudem of Khammam Siddipet of Medak, Suryapet of Nalgonda, and Nagarkurnool of existing Mahabubnagar districts are all set to be formed into new districts. Kamareddy revenue with 10 revenue mandals and two Assembly constituencies of Kamareddy and Yellareddy in Nizamabad district are expected to be merged with Siddipet district something the people are strongly objecting regarding the proposal of merger, since Kamareddy is the oldest town of Telangana and also a major business centre. Now there are demands that it should be Kamareddy district instead of Siddipet as people believe that Siddipet had gained prominence just because it had representation of chief minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao and now his nephew T. Harish Rao. The people feel that as per geography and infrastructure , Kamareddy should get new district status.
