When Manipur people experienced attacks on them in Delhi as they are discriminated, they clamored that they too are Indians and their customs should be respected. However in Manipur NIT, students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were attacked resulting in serious injuries to two of them. 19 students belonging to the two states are now living in constant fear in the two campuses of NTR, Manipur. On Saturday, mob threatened to kill non locals. Tense situation is the result of protests in Manipur demanding the Centre to implement the Inner Lime Permit system. The permits are intended to regulate the entry of non-locals into the border state. A student recollecting the ordeal said “They were selectively attacking us. A few cops even came inside our room and beat us,” He added “On Saturday, the Chief Minister talked to us. However, after he left, around 100 people, most of them local goons came into our campus despite the presence of cops. We locked ourselves inside our rooms. They started threatening to kill us. It continued till 3.30 am,”
