TDP candidate Tangirala Soumya rode on a massive sympathy wave to win Nandigama assembly election. She won by a record margin of 74,827 votes.The election was necessitated due to the death of victorious TDP candidate Tangirala Prabhakar Rao. He died even before taking oath as the MLA. She got 99,748 votes, while Baburao got 24,921 votes. The lone independent candidate got 650 votes. The main contenders are Tangirala Sowmya daughter of Late Prabhakara Rao Tangirala and from Congress party Bodapati Babu Rao.YSR Congress, the main opposition party, skipped this by election. Other side ruling TRS party is showing its charm in the prestigious Medak by-election by grabbing stunning majority above BJP and Congress. TRS candidate Kotta Prabhakar Reddy is heading with majority of 1, 45,540 votes. At the 6th round of counting in the Medak By Poll the TRS has achieved a majority of 1,63,112 votes by clocking 2,45,131 votes as against 82,019 of congress and 78,169 votes of the BJP.
