The grand old national party of India, the Congress is today placed in such a way in regions where it has ruled last ten years that people are having the last laugh. In the much hyped Medak by elections, Sunitha Lakshma Reddy was the candidate for Lok Sabha.
Meanwhile Babu Rao was Congress candidate for Assembly from Nandigama. IN TS region, the party still has active cadre but at a time when it was feared whether Congress would get deposit against TRS candidate, fortunately Sunitha Reddy retained deposits.
In Andhra Pradesh defying norms that when an MLA is deceased, no one contests, Congress was eager to contest since it didn’t have even one MLA in AP. However, luckily even here Congress retained deposit.
Compared to 2000 plus votes last time this time Congress secured 25,000 seats although it has to be remembered that YSRCP didn’t contest here expecting return favor from TDP for Allagadda seat anytime soon. Therefore, Congress is happy about not losing, but securing deposit!
