September 17th is a watershed moment for India and also for the people of Telangana because it was the day when Nizam of Hyderabad surrendered to India. A large credit for that goes to Sardar Vallabhai Patel who was aggressive enough in his strategies to get the nation united. Officially, in 1948 this was the day when the people here earned true freedom, and became part of India. But after Andhra Pradesh had formed, never was this celebrated as a day marking independence. To this day, parts of Maharashtra and Karnataka that were under Hyderabad state celebrate this occasion while Telangana votaries blasted United AP CM’s that they are disrespecting the culture of Telangana without official celebrations. Now, after formation of Telangana, no one has any clue why the government has backed off. Who are the real drohis today! This is the question which has begun raising in the minds of the Telangana people. Only the government can answer that.
