It looks like the prestigious Metro Rail project is going to hit a deadlock situation. In a letter addressed to Telangana government, the famous company L&T has reportedly mentioned that it wants to exit the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
L&T has reportedly cited problems such as bifurcation, separation of coastal districts from Hyderabad city and Hyderabad not winning the status of union territory and it feels that the real estate will come down after bifurcation.
L&T Company also reportedly feels that the damage would be less and its profits would not be affected if Hyderabad is indeed made a union territory. As of now, there is news of some truce between the company and the government.
But a Metro project talking about Hyderabad being made a UT is now grabbing headlines. It has to be seen now as to how many twists and turns the Metro rail issue would take! In the midst of things, will the Telangana government pay heed to the UT proposal?
