The GMR group which constructed the international airport at Shamshabad here, currently operating it and has proposed to Telangana statw government to set up an airport city adjacent to Shamshabad airport at a cost of Rs. 750 crore which would create 15,000 to 20,000 jobs. It requires 50 acres land to establish airport city and it will have a state of the art exhibition cum convention center. GMR group chairman G Mallikarjuna Rao met the Telangana state chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the Secretariat on Friday and Making a presentation to CM, the group chairman G.M. Rao said it was also proposed to build a high class convention centre spread over 50 acres. He also said around 15,000- 20,000 people will get employment because of the airport city. KCR also requested to set up a hospital and a theme park near the airport. The presentation was witnessed by Education Minister G. Jagadish Reddy, Rajya Sabha member K. Keshava Rao and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister S. Narasing Rao.
