If reports are to be believed, then apart from other issues, the current festival of Bathukamma may have widened the differences between North and South Telangana. The recent announcement of TS CM KCR about removing the statues on Tank Bund has led to another controversy.
It has to be remembered that when compared to North leaders, it is leaders from South like Revanth Reddy and Aruna who are attacking TRS like no other leader. Today, Congress leader from Khammam Ponguleti joined the chorus.
He called as Telangana Rashtra Sankshobham and not Samithi as the last word. He warned KCR not to touch statues of national icons like Pingali Venkaiah on tank Bund, in the guise of Andhra statues.
He also said that instead of focusing on crucial issues like power, KCR is focusing more on Bathukamma, which is not a festival celebrated equally across all parts of TS and even criticized TRS move to shutdown 1000 government schools.
