Authorities in Telangana are still reportedly adamant about weeding out students from Seemandhra from their fee reimbursement policy. While the government is yet to make specific rules over the modalities of `Financial Assistance for Students of Telangana' (FAST) scheme, here is an update. The higher education department officials have reportedly said the state would stick to its decision over nativity clause that gives eligibility to only those students, whose grandparents had been in Telangana prior to 1956. Only they would be rightfully called locals. This comes after the recent GO issued by Andhra Pradesh government which permits nearly 17,000 students of Telangana origin get a pie in their fee reimbursement scheme. At the same time, AP is hoping TS reciprocates this gesture. Moreover, even after the high court stating that this FAST scheme is looking anti-national, the attitude of TS government is worrying many!
