After Srisailam Dam which is now being depleted due to sudden power production by TS government, now sources say that it’s the turn of Nagarjuna Sagar dam. Usually like Srisailam, even Nagarjuna Sagar dam waters are used for power generation. But this happens only during peak summer in the absence of any flood during normal monsoon. Moreover, the waters are important from agriculture and drinking water angles for Khammam and Nalgonda in TS and Guntur, Prakasam and Krishna districts of AP. Now with TS government starting power production in Nagarjuna Sagar dam, it is not AP but the first salvo was fired from Congress MP of Nalgonda Gutta Sukhender Reddy who shot of a letter asking KCR not to take any hasty steps given summer season requirements. From their end, Andhra Pradesh is gearing up to raise official complaint! This is exactly one of the major problems which was highlighted by the Samaikyandhra seekers during the agitation time and now that problem has become a reality which is getting hard to resolve.
