The rival between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over sharing of water and electricity reached governor ESL Narasimhan. Telangana continued to generate electricity from srisailam to overcome the electricity crisis in telangana even after the objections raised by Andhra Pradesh government. Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekhar rao clearly stated that power generation will save crops and help farmers to governor but Andhra Pradesh irrigation minister Uma maheshwar rao lodged a complaint against the Telangana govt regarding power generation from srisailam project. The governor of both states, Narasimhan advised them to solve the issue in a friendly manner through talks and discussions. Andhra Pradesh kas already asked to stop telangana to stop consuming electricity from srisailam project as it violates orders relating water levels in srisailam reservoir across Krishna River. KCr announced on Thursday that it has every right to generate power by using water from srisailam.the newly formed state requires power for supply to farmers, who use pumpsets to use ground water for irrigation. The shortage in telangana is due to chandrababu naidu – led Telugu desam party government. He also said that Andhra Pradesh is not giving 54 percent share in electricity generated in all power stations as provided in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation act. Irrigation minister harish rao and senior officials along with chief minister Chandrasekhar rao discussed the proposal to approach the supreme court in a meeting. KCR also asked officials of telangana to put strong arguments during meeting of the Krishna river water board meeting scheduled this week.
