Yet another crucial blow has struck the YSRCP camp. The much expected resignation of Konathala Ramakrishna from the party of Jagan Mohan Reddy has finally set in, with reports of mass cadre movement too. With this, Jagan’s party has been left high and dry in North Coastal Andhra. Except for Dharmana Prasad who now remains the only important figure here, there is not a single leader who can take care of Jagan’s party in this region. But here is the interesting aspect. Konathala’s exit should have naturally become a plus for TDP given its anti-YSRCP agenda but this doesn’t seem to be the case. The reason being he is all set to defect to current ally of TDP and also the expected rival by 2019 polls, BJP. Konathala is expected to move along with 2-3 MLAs from YSRCP. So, for the first time YSRCP loss is not considered as TDP’s gain, which is a worrying factor for Babu and a plus for NaMo’s party in Seemandhra.
