In what is being perceived as major shock to the Congress party in Andhra Pradesh, six time MLA and also former minister Kanna Laxminarayana has reportedly joined the BJP. Kanna today met the BJP National chief Amit Shah and took a plunge into the saffron party in his presence.
Kanna was a Chief Minister aspirant in Congress Party till recently. After Purandareswari and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao left Congress to join BJP then Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Galla Aruna Kumari took a berth in Telugu Desam Party.
It is heard that Kanna tried very hard to enter TDP, but majority of Guntur TDP leaders had opposed this move vowing non-cooperation with Kanna Lakshminarayana. As he had no other option, Kanna has jumped into BJP.
Kanna's defection now comes on the same day when there are reports doing the rounds that YSRCP leader Konathala may take plunge into BJP. What has to be seen is whether BJP can woo any of the leaders from the Telangana region.
