Revenue for AP for first two quarters after the division of the state has increased abnormally. When compared to first two quarters of last financial year, AP revenue has increased 13.86% in this year at Rs 12,881 crores in first two quarters of the current FY. It seems that AP revenue is great sigh of relief to the Government who feared the lack of resources due to bifurcation in this year. In 2012-13 FY, AP revenue was registered 11,313 crores where the revenue registered 12,881 crores in this 2013-14. Departments of Commercial Tax, Amkari, Stamps, Registrations, Transport and Mining departments were participated in review meeting with Chief Minister CBN. Chief Minister asked the officials of the revenue department during the meeting to explore the possibility of setting up an economic Intelligence unit like in Maharashtra. CBN also directed Mining Department to do survey to assess the availability of coal reserves in Chintalapudi Forest Area in West Godavari and asked them to submit within 6 months. CBN not bothered on reduction of the revenue through excise but cautious the officials on illicit liquor. Chief Minister ordered to follow TN Excise Policy.
